Atabey Sanchez-Haiman wants her pop art

to be a source of happiness and joy for others. At her small business, Giraffes and Robots

Pop Art Studio, customers can find predominantly orange, yellow and red pop art with whimsical themes and a retro feel. Cute bunnies with bologna sandwiches, ducks with disco balls, giraffes in scuba gear and robots in space might all sound random and unrelated yet a common thread among Atabey’s pop art is its ability to make people smile. Even her studio's unique name of Giraffes and Robots, which points to her earliest works, incites intrigue and laughter.

Atabey grew up in Puerto Rico with aspirations to be a scientist- pursuing a career as an artist was not her anticipated path. She was initially exposed to the artistic scene through friends at RISD while attending Brown University and then again while living in one of the most art-centric capitals of

the world, Barcelona. Atabey’s passion to make art started out as a side gig that slowly but surely took over and became her career. She enjoys the challenges and creativity of being a small business owner, artist and entrepreneur.
